1. Talk to Boshu /navi prt_fild05 145/235 in the Ninja Guild in Amatsu (147,136). He'll ask you to bring him a Guard[1 Item #2102 Guard[1]}].
2. After bringing him the Guard [1], Boshu will examine it (but will not take it from you), then offer to create a slotted version of the Arm Guard if you give him 1 Guard[1 Item #2102 Guard[1]}], 1 Arm Guard [0] Item #2117 Arm Guard [0]}, and 10,000 Zeny. (Arm Guard [0]s can be bought from Boonray in the Ninja Guild's supply room.)
3. Give him the required items and pay the fee, and the player will receive a slotted Arm Guard.

1. Talk to Batshu /navi prt_fild05 145/235 in the Ninja Guild in Amatsu (147,136). He'll ask you to bring him a Mirror Shield [0] Item #2107 Mirror Shield [0]}.
2. After bringing him the Mirror Shield [0], Batshu will examine it (but will not take it from you), then offer to create a new version of the Arm Guard if you give him 1 Mirror Shield [0] Item #2107 Mirror Shield [0]}, 1 Arm Guard [0] Item #2117 Arm Guard [0]}, and 20,000 Zeny. (Arm Guard [0]s can be bought from Boonray in the Ninja Guild's supply room.)
3. Give him the required items and pay the fee, and the player will receive an Advanced Arm Guard.

- Note: The NPC calls the Advanced Arm Guard an "Upgraded Arm Guard".
2. When you bring the items to him, you will receive an Advanced Arm Guard [1] Item #2120 Advanced Arm Guard [1]}.
