Microsoft completed its takeover of Blizzard in October 2023 – right around when these Heroes of the Storm updates began again. While there has been no solid evidence proving a correlation between these two events, fans of the game still hope it could be some indication that Microsoft has plans to revive Heroes of the Storm . While doing so would be a popular and timely decision among the community, players shouldn’t get their hopes up unless Blizzard makes an official announcement about such a development. In the meantime, it seems like fans can take solace in the fact that Heroes of the Storm isn’t truly going away any time s

Heroes of the Storm is bringing back the Heroes Brawl as Brawl Mode, opening up dozens of discontinued maps for the first time in almost five years. This new version of the classic Heroes Brawl SLG game tips mode is available to play on the Heroes of the Storm Public Test Realm now and will ostensibly officially return when the patch goes live in about a mo

This isn’t a first for the video game industry and it’s certainly not one that should be heralded as anything but a pleasing distraction from the ample drone of marketing claiming x, y, z and so on. It certainly helps alleviate the noise of timed exclusivity, pre-order incentives and other aspects pertaining to financial agendas as opposed to…the love and joy of the medium. But the issue I’m meaning to deviate towards is not what trailers are meant to feature or even represent - developers/publishers are perfectly fine with detailing the abundance of content and activities players can get invested in or may even benefit from if they choose to go down a specific route.

Now, nearly five years later, it seems Heroes Brawls are finally returning to the Blizzard MOBA, albeit under a slightly different name. Heroes of the Storm recently implemented a new update on the Public Test Realm featuring some hero balance and bug fixes. However, the most interesting part of the update is Brawl Mode, a new version of the Heroes Brawl that will be added back to the game in the next upd

The more obvious parallel is Mantis' ultimate attack, which is nearly identical to Zenyatta's. Both characters unleash auras. Not only do the auras continuously heal while they are active, but they also increase movement speed, which is helpful when trying to maintain a capture point or push a team toward an object

When it comes to the many Marvel heroes and villains to choose from, Marvel Rivals even has similar gameplay elements, as Overwatch -like characters are mixed in with new ones. Some are more noticeable than others, which is a good way for Overwatch players to get into Marvel Rivals by having a sense of familiarity with a character that might be similar to their favor

The update also squashed quite a few bugs in Blizzard’s MOBA. Beyond some pathing problems with experience globes, visual effects for rooting, and the interaction between crowd control reduction and gradual slowing effects, nearly three dozen heroes had issues resolved pertaining to their abilities and tale

June 2, 2025, is the 10-year anniversary of Heroes of the Storm , so it is fitting that Heroes Brawl has returned for the MOBA’s big year. This is a huge win for fans of the Blizzard MOBA – and many players are hoping it might be yet another prelude to an official revival of Heroes of the Sto

This update introduced buffs for Qhira and Zarya, nerfs to Brightwing, Genji, and Samuro, as well as a slight horizontal change to one of Raynor’s talents at level 20. The patch also added tons of bug fixes, many of which seem to be related to how the Death Recap displays certain abilities and skills or how heroes are revealed when hit by certain ski

Though Blizzard's multi-franchise MOBA has technically been in maintenance mode since July 2022, Heroes of the Storm suddenly received a balance patch over a year later in September 2023. Every few months since then, Heroes of the Storm has consistently rolled out new patches, with the seventh such update arriving in early December 2

According to the patch notes, Brawl Mode will rotate every two weeks, on the 1st and 15th of each month, rather than every week as its predecessor did. As before, players can earn a special chest by playing three games of the Brawl while it is active. It currently remains to be seen if fans can earn this reward a single time each Brawl, or once a week while it is live. Considering there were over two dozen Heroes Brawls in the past, players will likely see most of their favorites return in time – and maybe even some new Brawls in the fut
