Top 10 Mobile Games Of 2019
Pokémon Go , friends. Pokémon freaking Go. What can we really say about this one? Nintendo have been trying for decades to get us gamers up off of our big ol’ hairy sagging-over-the-edges-of-the-couch-cushion butts, with Wii Sports and the like, but Pokémon Go was the one. Go was the game that got us walking our dogs for the first time in four ye
For those unaware, Treyarch released Call of Duty: World at War in 2008, the first Call of Duty game to feature a Zombies mode. At the time, this was referred to as Nazi Zombies, and featured up to four players working cooperatively to survive wave after wave of zombies. After each wave, the zombies would get tougher until they eventually overwhelmed player. There was no narrative, no winning, simply survive for as long as possible. Ever since then, the Zombies mode has been a hallmark of Call of Duty games , with few exceptions. When Call of Duty: Mobile released October 1st of 2019, fans took heart in seeing a big "coming soon" placeholder for Call of Duty Zombies. Though the last month-and-a-half has felt like a year for some players, the wait is finally o
Mobile games have come a long way since their inception when they were basic puzzle and tap games. Some mobile games have grown to challenge the very limits of mobile devices, including full-blown shooters, RPGs, and more. And 2019 saw the mobile games industry shift in various ways, including the introduction of subscription services like Apple Arcade and Google Play Pa
Back in the world of Final Fantasy (not to be confused with World of Final Fantasy ; man this franchise has spin-offs out the wazzoo), Mobius is the latest mobile title to be released. It follows series stalwart Warrior of Light, as he awakens with amnesia in a town plagued by all manner of ghastly-ass demons. Yep, that is how the story of EVERY SINGLE RPG EVER begins, but stick with me h
As we’ve already seen, it’s always a great boon for a mobile game to arrive with a big name attached. There are few bigger than Final Fantasy and a free-to-play RPG set across the series’ iconic worlds was always going to get itself a lot of attention on lau
The awards will be handed out on Thursday, February 7th, during the 2013 D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas, and the ceremony will be streamed live on Machinima.com starting at 7:30pm PT. Nerdist head honcho/comedian Chris Hardwick will assume hosting duties for the event, replacing longtime host Jay M
Call of Duty Mobile has satisfying progression, a nice selection of fan favorite maps, and it looks great on phones and tablets. The SLG Game Online Guide's liberal use of bots hampers the experience a bit, and the battle royale mode could stand to have a slightly smaller map or something to make firefights happen more often. Future updates will likely make the game even better, though there's also a chance that the in-game economy will be re-balanced to try to get players to buy into the microtransactions. In its current state, though, Call of Duty Mobile is a pretty great mobile FPS that will no doubt please fans of the franch
That’s an industry-wide problem though, sadly. You’ve got PC gamers declaring themselves the master race, Xbox and PlayStation fans bitching back and forth at each other in the comment sections of YouTube videos, and Nintendo… well, doing their Nintendo thing and being completely uninterested in what everyone else is doing. Why can’t we all just get along? Why can’t Xbox One and PS4 owners gather together in a Spring meadow, clasp hands and sing Ebony and Ivory together, as our forefathers inten
You know who does seem to have embraced mobile gaming lately (at long freaking last)? Nintendo, that’s who. A year ago, the idea of a Mario title for phones would have outrageous, unthinkable blasphemy, but Super Mario Run is now a thing. As is Nintendo/DeNA collaboration Fire Emblem Her
Another exciting development is the end of the first Battle Pass. Purchasing the Battle Pass allows players to receive additional rewards upon leveling up or completing in-game goals, the first Battle Pass in particular was full of incredible loot, and fans were satisfied. Beginning November 25th, Battle Pass two will begin, and is sure to include more great rewards. On the Call of Duty: Mobile subreddit, it is said that Battle Pass will contain "new loot, new gear, and plenty of ways to stand-out, or blend in, on the battlefie
Call of Duty Mobile 's battle royale mode has a surprising amount of features at launch as well, including numerous vehicles for players to use, zombies that spawn at certain areas of the map, plenty of weapons and gear, and even supernatural bosses that drop loot. The map is a little too big and going long stretches without seeing anyone isn't uncommon, but overall Call of Duty Mobile delivers a high quality mobile battle royale experience, perhaps second only to PUBG Mobi
