The second game in the original Mass Effect trilogy retained the strong aspects of its predecessor while polishing up the game's combat. The end result is a fun adventure that will keep players engaged for quite some time ind

The later XCOM games also had a competent AI that rarely made mistakes, adding to the difficulty as well as the believability of the world. Venturing out with the four to six-person squads for battles and the exploration of areas felt risky as well as rewarding, and the tactically complex and highly challenging combat situations were addictive and enjoya

Valve has been at the forefront of delivering stellar experiences with their amazing titles, and Portal 2 is no exception. The fact that this sequel managed to build and improve upon everything set in its predecessor is genuinely impress

After being both impressed yet underwhelmed by the ambition of Octopath Traveller, Triangle Strategy feels like a more focused outing that knows exactly what it can do well and builds upon it in countless ways. The characters are great, the combat is satisfying, and the world building thus far is absolutely stellar. If the full slg game tips continues to build upon this brilliance we could be looking at one of the year’s most unexpected surprises.

Ken Levine might be facing some problems with his latest venture, but there was a time when the video game auteur was at the top of his craft. He used his work on System Shock 2 to help him spear the development of one of the greatest video games of all t

Turn-based strategy games are a blast to play through for gamers who prefer to take their time in games instead of shooting and blasting their way through everything at record times. In this regard, XCOM 2 excels on all fro

With the responsibility of running a base combined with the top-down, turn-based combat of engaging in missions with a team of troopers, the XCOM games provided the overview-style of an RTS with the thrill and pace of more action-focused excursions. The upcoming Star Wars game would do well to incorporate a similar structure, giving players multiple aspects to focus on and engage w

The inclusion of both of these forms of gameplay adds something extra to the standard RTS formula and gives players a taste of different game modes. For a Star Wars game this could also work perfectly, with gamers having to manage the resources and structure of their base alongside more exciting missions. The Star Wars franchise is already set up for that, with multiple factions having bases of operations in previous films and games like the Rebel Alliance base on Endor . With many factions to choose from within the Star Wars canon that could operate out of bases which players could work to expand throughout the game, the story possibilities are fairly endl

While I can’t delve too deeply into the narrative as part of this preview, I can say that Triangle Strategy does an excellent job of introducing its cast of characters while making them matter. Serenoa is far too young for the post he’s been appointed but will do anything for his people, while Frederica is walking into a relationship amidst a nation who views her people with a level of racial hate that is often vitriolic. Other characters like Roland also shine, a prince who resents the people dying in the face of his own protection. The crown weighs heavy, and the game isn’t afraid to force difficult decisions upon you. You will learn to love all of these people, even if the English voice acting has a habit of veering into pantomime territory. Serenoa is particularly awful, to the point where I found myself guffawing at the screen as lines were delivered with the enthusiasm of a plasticine potato.

In addition to using the XCOM series for ideas on how to structure the Star Wars strategy game, Respawn and Bit Reactor would be able to elevate the title with several other elements. A challenging AI is an easy way to ensure that gameplay is adaptive and requires careful planning to progress — key elements for titles in the strategy genre. The setting of XCOM 2 in particular offers up some interesting story tangents for the upcoming game to explore, and the mix of base management and more up close and personal trooper control provides players with a multitude of different aspects and approaches to progress through the g

**Triangle Strategy ** is a strategy-based roleplaying game with hybrid 2D and 3D graphics developed by Square Enix for the Nintendo Switch. Triangle Strategy 's progression is narrative-driven, immersing players in a complex fantasy world rife with troubled nations, political intrigue, and hidden secrets. While gameplay mirrors certain elements seen in Octopath Traveler , the story and mechanics of Triangle Strategy have unique twists that allow the game to stand up well as its own title. Despite this, lengthy dialogue scenes and slow narrative progression may be a frustrating hurdle for those used to more fast-paced Square Enix titl
